Examples of our work

The Cambridge Violin Makers workshops produce a lot of completed instruments every year. Roughly twenty five pupils will complete a project per annum. All sorts of stringed instruments are produced. The huge majority are violins, violas and violincellos, but just now and again more unusual instruments are made. Sometimes this will mean the carving of an unusual head or more embelishment on the body, but more experienced pupils have made quintons, hardanger violins, double basses, viols, viola d'amore, mandolins and guitars.

The "in house" and outworker professionals undertake all sorts of commissions including violins, violas and violincellos and both acoustic and electric guitars. Less often custom one off instruments such as fretless bass guitars and lap steel guitars are made.
